The program's emphasis is on Australia's place in the world, how international events influence us or ought to, and how domestic issues impact on our daily lives.

It is currently hosted by Thomas Oriti and broadcast on the ABC Radio National and ABC Local Radio networks.[1]

History

In June 2020, ABC announced that Eleanor Hall would be stepping down from her role from August, after 19 years of hosting the program. Sally Sara has been announced as her replacement.[2]
