"There Is a Star" is a song recorded by German eurodance act Pharao. It was released in September 1994 as the second single from the album, Pharao. Commercially the song was presented with the slogan, "Wise men follow stars...". It hit success in Finland, where it peaked at number 3. The song also reached number 8 in Germany and number 7 on the dance chart in Canada.

Chart performance

"There Is a Star" was a major hit on the charts in Europe and remains one of the act's most successful songs. It peaked within the Top 10 in Finland (number 3) and Germany (number 8). Additionally, it managed to climb into the Top 20 in Austria, Sweden and Switzerland. And into the Top 40 in the Netherlands and Scotland. On the Eurochart Hot 100, "There Is a Star" reached its highest position as number 21. In the United Kingdom, it charted on the UK Singles Chart, ending up at number 43 in its first week, on February 26, 1995.[1] But on the UK Dance Chart, the song was an even bigger hit, reaching number 30. Outside Europe, it peaked at number 7 on the RPM Dance Chart in Canada. It was awarded with a gold record in Germany, with a sale of 250,000 singles.

Music video

The music video for "There Is a Star" was directed by director Nigel Simpkiss.[2] It features the act performing the song inside what appears to be an electronic pyramid.
