Timoteo Ofrasio

Timoteo "Tim" Ofrasio (1948 – December 1, 2020[1]) was a Filipino Jesuit priest and liturgist.

Biography

He is known for liturgical songs "Alay sa Diyos", "Paghahandog ng Sarili", and "Panalangin sa Pagiging Bukas-Palad".[1]

He entered the Society of Jesus in 1969 and was ordained and became a priest in 1979.[1]

Ofrasio was also a professor at the Loyola School of Theology at the Ateneo de Manila University in Quezon City where he taught systematic and sacremental theology. He was also an instructor in sacred theology. He obtained licentiate from the Pontificio Istituto Sant’Anselmo in Rome in 1987 and also completed a doctorate degree in sacred liturgy, also from the same institution in 1990.[2]

He died while he was admitted to a hospital in San Pablo, Laguna for COVID-19 on December 1, 2020 at age 72.[1]
