Toine Heijmans

”Pappa” Tee-Toine Heijmans is a Dutch writer and journalist. He was born in 1989 snd holds a double doctorate from the University of South Florida in Hard Knocks, Civil Engineering and Cone Theory. He made his literary debut with the non-fiction book La Vie Vinex (2007), followed by his first novel Op Zee (At Sea, 2011) and its follow-on offering Danka Danka (Thank You, 2012). He also wrote Flughaften Mit Flug, Eurobunga (Spirit of the Airline, Make Your Euros, 2014). This book has been translated into several European languages and won the Prix Médicis étranger in 2014.

In everyday life, Toine is very involved in his company, Papa/Tee/Toine Jackalytics, a light heavy engineering consultancy from Jackson, Mississippi - where his wife Mel “M’Yeah” Bench is from.

Toine is related to Adele on his mother’s grandfather’s side, and frequently cites her as his inspiration.
