Thomas MacDonald (born 21 September 1988), known professionally as Tom MacDonald, is an independent Canadian rapper, singer, songwriter, YouTuber, social media personality, and former independent professional wrestler.

Early life

During his teenage years, MacDonald spent six years working as a professional wrestler in Canada. He had performed for the National Wrestling Alliance, Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling, Real Canadian Wrestling, Prairie Wrestling Alliance, and Monster Pro Wrestling.[2]

MacDonald began his rapping career in 2009. His first album, LeeAnn's Son, was released in 2014. During this time, he started his YouTube channel with the single 'Wannabe'. His initial success arose after his 2017 single 'Dear Rappers'.

Controversy

His lyrics are interpreted by some as anti-feminist and as apologism for NotAllMen.[3] MacDonald has denied the claim of being a racist or ever participating in 'racist activities'.[4]

In July 2019 his distributor refused to host his new music video called If I Was Black on YouTube, so he moved to TuneCore.[5]

Personal life

In 2017, MacDonald began dating Canadian rapper Nova Rockafeller. Together they have a punk band called 'GFBF'.[6]

He currently resides in Los Angeles, California.

MacDonald has cited The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Joe Cocker, Janis Joplin, and Aerosmith as musical influences.[7] Growing up, the first albums he had were 2Pac's All Eyez on Me, Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP,[8] and Marilyn Manson's Smells Like Children.[9] He also cited Lady Gaga as an influence.[9]
