Tomoko Tamura
Tomoko Tamura (Japanese: 田村 智子, born 4 July 1965, Nagano Prefecture) is a member of the Japanese Communist Party serving in the House of Councillors. She has been elected twice to this position—once in 2010, and again in 2016.[1] She criticized Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe's cabinet picks, saying that they were just trying to appeal to minorities such as women without choosing people who are actually supportive of the women's movement.[2]
