Umurah Salaam (film)

Umurah Salaam is a 2008 Maldivian short-film written and directed by Ahmed Nimal.[1] Co-produced by Ali Sofeeh and Niuma Mohamed under Creative Movies, the film stars Mariyam Afeefa, Ismail Rasheed and Lufshan Shakeeb in pivotal roles.[2][3][4]

Premise

Nafeesa (Mariyam Afeefa) accepts her father's (Ahmed Nimal) request to marry an unattractive orphan, Faheem (Ismail Rasheed) who recently graduated from college. As time passes by, Nafeesa slowly becomes immersed in Faheem's unconditional love though she fails to return the same affection towards her. Faheem introduces his childhood best friend, Shahid (Lufshan Shakeeb) who returns from abroad. Shahid compliments on Nafeesa's good look who also shares a similar feeling towards him.

Faheem leaves abroad for one month for a workshop, leaving Nafeesa in the responsibility of Shahid. Taking the chance, Shahid confesses his love and brainwashes Nafeesa to commence a secret relationship with him. Faheem returns shortly and discovers that Nafeesa is pregnant.
