Velakkathala Nair

The Vilakkithala Nair--Vilakkithallvan are a caste found in Kerala state, India, who traditionally considered as workers of upper castes like Brahmins, Kshatriyas. In Kerala they are not considered as real Nairs and belongs to OBC category.[1] This caste is mentioned in the journal The Internal Structure of the Nayar Caste written by C. J. Fuller, and described as having the name Nair, but not being a part of the same community as upper caste Nairs.[2] The community organisation is Vilakkithala Nair Samajam.[3]
