Vijay Goel (lawyer)

Vijay Goel (born September 29, 1974) is a UK-based attorney, corporate lawyer and senior partner for the London office of Singhania & Co. Goel received a Bachelor of law in Business Law & Tax (LL.B, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA), Lucknow in 1998. Goel was awarded from Indian finance minister Mr.Arun jaitly in year 2015. He has expertise in advising clients on matters relating to corporate law, laws relating to joint ventures and foreign collaborations. He has expertise in real estate transactions and has completed some major real estate transactions in India and Former Advisor on Emerging Markets to Rt. Honorable Nick Clegg MP, Former Deputy Prime Minister of UK.

Early life

Vijay was born in Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh, to Mr G N Goel and mother Late Usha Goel. He completed his schooling in village called Tikunia Kheri in UP and then moved to Lucknow, capital of UP for Higher Education. From childhood, he used to look after his father's business in Tikunia kheri in UP. Vijay was a bright student he has done B com, MBA and LLB from lucknow. Later moved to Delhi in 1998 and joined Singhania & Co and now settled in London with his wife Poonam Goel and son Arav Goel.

Achievements and contributions

Vijay has won many awards including the law day award from the President of India.[1][2] In recognition for Vijay's role in promoting judicial reforms in India. Mr.K.G.Balakrishnan, Chief Justice of India honoured Vijay Goel with a Memento

Vijay is the Ambassador of Barnardo's, UK's largest and Oldest national children's charity.

Vijay was conferred Asian Voice Asian Achievers Award for 'Professional of the Year' by Britain's minister of state for Justice Lord Tom McNally[3] Vijay was awarded 'Asian Leadership in Europe' by Asian Who's Who International at a Gala ceremony held at the Dorchester Hotel, Park Lane, London on 30 November 2009. The award was presented by Lord Karan Bilimoria[4] [5] Vijay was the Coordinator of a high level delegation of the Commonwealth Business Council, UK for the Government of Gujarat for its Vibrant Gujarat Summit in January 2009.
