W. Anthony Park

W. Anthony Park (born June 4, 1934) is an American politician and attorney who served as the 26th Attorney General of Idaho.[1] A member of the Democratic Party, he served from 1971 to 1975.[2]

Early life and education

Park was born in Blackfoot, Idaho in 1934. He was raised in Pocatello, Idaho before moving to Boise in 1943 with his family. After graduating from Boise High School, he earned an Associate of Arts degree from Boise Junior College in 1954. After serving in the United States Army for two years, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Idaho and a Juris Doctor from the University of Idaho College of Law.[3]

Career

After graduating from law school, Park operated a private legal practice in Boise. After his election in 1970, he assumed office as the Attorney General of Idaho on January 4, 1971.[4] In 1974, Park was defeated for re-election by Wayne L. Kidwell.[5]

After leaving office, Park resumed private practice in Boise.[3]
