Walter Burton Ford
Walter Burton Ford (May 18, 1874 in Oneonta, New York – February 24, 1971 in Seneca County, New York) was an American mathematician working in analysis.
He earned his PhD in 1905 from Harvard under the direction of Maxime Bôcher. Ford was a mathematics professor at the University of Michigan and played a significant role in mathematics education in the US by writing a series of textbooks that were widely used in secondary schools. He served as president of the Mathematical Association of America in 1927–1928.
