Webster County Sheriff's Department (Nebraska)

The Webster County Sheriff's Department is the primary law enforcement agency in Webster County, Nebraska.

The department provides law enforcement services for all six communities within the county. The current Sheriff is Troy R. Schmitz, and he oversees all Sheriff Department business, law enforcement actions, and community outreach. The Sheriff's Department is available for services 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls for service will be answered by one or more of the 6 sworn deputies on staff. The Webster County Sheriff's Department also has a K9 unit, which is used for drug detection, criminal apprehension, and tracking.

The sheriff's department is located at 641 N. Cedar in Red Cloud, Nebraska, which is the Webster County seat. All communities and rural areas are regularly patrolled by the Sheriff's Department. The City of Red Cloud contracts with the Sheriff's Department for extra patrol time.
