Wellycon

Wellycon is the largest board game convention in New Zealand.[1][2]

Not to be confused with Wellcon, the first New Zealand National Science Fiction Convention.

The Wellycon Convention is held annually in Wellington, New Zealand on the Saturday and Sunday of Queen's Birthday Weekend. The first Wellycon was held in 2008, with Wellycon XI held in 2018 at Wellington Girls' College, with over 600 attendees.[3][4]

The 2018 Wellycon offered an exclusive promo card for the Spiel des Jahres-nominated boardgame Raiders of the North Sea.[5]

The 2019 Wellycon was hosted over 1-2 June featured four game premieres and had a Codenames theme.[6]
