It features various lyrics in Spanish which include: La vida loca (The crazy life), Disfruta la vida (Enjoy life) and Pienso que te quiero (I think that I love you). When released, the double A-side peaked at number five in the United Kingdom and number 18 in Ireland.

Music videos

The video for "When I Said Goodbye" was a black-and-white video shot in Rome, Italy. It featured shots of the members singing solemnly. In contrast, the video for the Latin-flavoured "Summer of Love" featured brightly coloured clothes and energetic dancing. It portrayed Steps and their dancers as "good Steps" (very colourful and dressed innocently) and "bad Steps" (dressed in leather, with black makeup, somewhat raunchy looking); in the end, good Steps chased bad steps away with their amazing dancing.
