Wofai Samuel

Wofai Samuel (born 18 September 1990), is an international media personality,[2] and international communications executive from Nigeria.[3] Her experience spans the Oil & Gas,[4] International Trade & Investment,[5] and the Power & Energy sectors respectively.[6]

Early life

Wofai Samuel, was born in Calabar, Cross River State.[7] She attended Federal Government Girls' College, graduated in 2005 and proceeded to the University of Calabar in 2006, where she obtained a BSc.

Career

Trade and Investment

In June 2017, Wofai chaired the Ministerial Panels for the two days, 'Belarus-Africa Forum' in Europe, Minsk,[8] organised by the Development Bank [9] of Belarus and African Export-Import Bank, in collaboration with the Belarus Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Agriculture.[10] In November 2018, she chaired the Launch of African Export - Import Bank's Project Preparation Facility – PPF on the sidelines of African Development Bank's Africa Investment Forum in Johannesburg, South Africa.[11] Wofai chaired Global Trade Review, GTR's West Africa Trade and Export Finance Conference in February 2018. The event was dubbed GTR's largest event in Africa.[12] In a series of trips organised by African Investments, Wofai Samuel delivered a keynote speech [13] on 'Why Invest in Nigeria'.[14] She chaired Cntral Bank of Nigeria Cashless Card Meeting in 2016[15] and the 6th edition of Committee of e-banking Heads Retreat.[16] Wofai Samuel, Chaired [17] West Africa Trade & Investment Stakeholders Meeting[18] & Nigeria - Italy Economic Investment Summit in 2019.[19][20]

In November 2019, Wofai was Lead Keynote Speaker for Africa's First Ever International Produced Water Management[21] Conference after successful editions in the United States & Middle East.

Ministry of Petroleum Kenya and a host of other African Governments assembled in Nairobi for Sub - Saharan Africa Oil, Gas & Energy Infrastructure Summit, the event was chaired by Wofai Samuel.[22][23] Wofai Chaired panel sessions for Oil and Gas Council's Nigeria [24] Assembly in November 2017.[25] Wofai Samuel was the first ever female chair for Oil Trading Logistics Africa Downstream Week, OTL in October 2017. In October 2018, she chaired AFSIC UK's Oil & Gas Panel Sessions in Nigeria & Africa Oil and Gas Talent Summit Respectively.[26] In September 2019, Wofai Samuel was profiled on Energy Times Newspapers.[27] Wofai Samuel was profiled on Forbes Africa as shaping the future of the continent in (October–November) 2020.[28]

Power and Energy

Wofai Samuel chaired West Africa Power/Energy Industry Awards organised by Spintelligent South Africa in 2017.[29] She chaired West Africa Energy, Trade & Mining Infrastructure Summit, Ghana in 2018.[30]

Foreign Investment Network

In July 2020; Wofai Samuel got appointed as Head of fIN Oil & Gas, a London based FDI company focused on Oil & Gas Projects in Developing Economies.[31]

Wofai Samuel organised and delivered a series of Virtual Meetings for [32] Upstream Petroleum Industry Stakeholders which attracted 22 countries,[33] 21 Petroleum & Energy Operating Companies Globally and 150 Senior Stakeholders across boards including APPO,[34] NNPC, Shell, Waltersmith Petroman Oil, Chevron, Bank of America, Exxon Mobil, Invictus Energy, Schlumberger & Crystol Energy.[35]

Visa

In June & November 2018, Wofai Samuel was scheduled to chair Africa Trade and Investment Global Summit in[36] Washington DC and Mines & Money London,[37] UK respectively. She missed these conferences on the backdrop of visa refusals by the American and British Embassies in Nigeria.

Personal life

In August 2017, Wofai Samuel lost her brother, Blessing Samuel after a brief illness. He was a staff of the University of Calabar.[38] This came after the demise of her father in 1996.
