Woodhouse Copse

Woodhouse Copse is a wood owned and managed by the Forestry Commission. It is located on the north east side of the Isle of Wight between Whippingham and Wootton, the main entrance being at SZ527928. It is 18 hectares in area and the smallest of the Forestry Commission's woods on the Isle of Wight.

The wood is bordered to the west and north by open land and to the east by Palmer's Brook, which becomes more and more marshy as it winds and slows on its way to King's Quay and the sea to the north.

As of 2007 the area had only recently been acquired by the Forestry Commission, and management of it had only just started. There is very poor access for the public and only a couple of paths run through the woods. It contains a mixture of deciduous and evergreen trees and is a location where red squirrels live.
