WorkBoard also pioneered OKR coaching to help companies collapse time to success with the OKR methodology and build sustaining organizational competency by managing through OKRs. WorkBoard has certified 2,500 coaches using its proven playbook.

Backed by Andreessen Horowitz, GGV Capital, Workday Ventures, and Microsoft’s M12, and based in Redwood City, Calif., WorkBoard is the enterprise standard for results management. It was founded in 2013 by Deidre Paknad and Daryoush Paknad.

History

Deidre Paknad, prior to co-founding WorkBoard in 2013 with Daryoush Paknad, led several high-growth organizations as CEO and founder and ran a global business as an executive at IBM after they acquired her last company, PSS Systems, in 2010. At IBM, she brought a startup and growth mindset to drive >50% growth year-over-year in one of the world’s largest matrixed organizations.

Having founded several high-growth startups and led big global businesses from the inside, Deidre has a unique, inside perspective on the tension between scale and speed. Her track record opens doors for her to speak with leaders from Fortune 10 to startup CEOs who are trying to communicate their mission and mobilize their teams more effectively.

In 2014 Workboard secured $2.75 million in seed money from several venture capital firms, including Opus Capital, followed by a $9.3 million Series A in December 2017, led by Floodgate and Microsoft Ventures.

WorkBoard has raised $65 million to date, including $23 million in its Series B funding March 2019 led by GGV Capital. In addition to tripling sales, 2019 was a record growth year for WorkBoard: it increased its engineering and sales team five-fold, its client services team ten-fold, and hired its first CFO. WorkBoard’s 100.0 NPS OKR Coach Certification program, launched in late 2018, certified over 1,100 people in 2019 and now has 2500 certified OKR Coaches.

In 2019, WorkBoard also created the OKR podcast with guests from Cisco, Microsoft, Zuora, and Secureworks. WorkBoard curates an active leadership community of experts to help enterprise stakeholders address the causes of internal growth drag and drive results velocity. The company also hired Karim Damji as CFO.

In 2020, the company continued to grow, hiring its first CCO, Dave Ginsburg, and CMO/General Manager, WorkBoard Community, Joelle Kaufman. In May, WorkBoard held its Virtual User Group with over 600 registrants featuring sessions with executives and upper management from Microsoft, IBM, Workday, Comcast, Malwarebytes, Zuora, BAL Global, GHX, Greenfield Global, and other companies regarding their journeys and successes with OKRs and WorkBoard.
