The book is essentially a chronological checklist of figures produced, and includes figures from promotions such as World Wrestling Federation (WWF) / World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), World Championship Wrestling (WCW), Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), American Wrestling Alliance (AWA), Ring of Honor Wrestling (ROH), New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), All-Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW), Pro Wrestling Noah, Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL).[1]

The figurines in the book have been created by manufacturers including Mattel, Jakks Pacific, Hasbro, LJN, Toy Biz / Marvel Toys, Galoob, Wicked Cool Toys, The Original San Francisco Toymakers, Character Product and Mogura House. The book contains figures from the first line of figures released in 1960s, all the way until December 2019.[2][3]

Synopsis

The publication consists of a very large chronological checklist of professional wrestling action figures. There is a short foreword which discusses how professional wrestling evolved over the decades, and what promotions became of a considerable size to be able to warrant having their own wrestling figure lines. The foreword also talks about mishaps regarding contracts, and what state figure lines were left in following the bankruptcy or closure of numerous companies.[4]

Writing

One man, Harvey George, created the entire book. The project began in November 2018, and was completed around December 2019. The book was created and formatted from June to August 2020, with a release in September 2020.[5]

Reception

The book was released online on the 11th September as an electronic book, and on the 13th September as a paperback.

It is currently the most comprehensive checklist to wrestling figures ever produced. [6]
