Wushu at the 2022 World Games

The wushu (taolu) competition at the 2022 World Games will take place in July of 2022,[1][2] in Birmingham, at the Bill Battle Coliseum. Originally scheduled to take place in July 2021, the Games have been rescheduled for July 2022 as a result of the 2020 Summer Olympics postponement due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[3]

Wushu will be featured as an invitational sport alongside duathlon, flag football, lacrosse, and wheelchair rugby. Wushu was also an invitational sport at the World Games in 2009 and 2013.

Qualification

Qualification will be based on ranking in the top eight of any event at the 2021 World Wushu Championships which are to be held in Dallas, Texas, United States. This is a taolu exclusive competition and so no sanda events will take place compared to previous renditions.[1] The International Wushu Federation (IWUF) will be managing this competition.
