Ye So-ya belonged to the Hanbaek tribe and was the daughter of the chieftan. She helped Jumong recover from an injury which he received during a war between Chinbun and Lintun. She married him at the age of 20 and they had a son named Yuri, but a few months after the birth, both she and her son were presumed dead.
Jumong went on to establish the Kingdom of Goguryeo with Soseono as his queen. Eventually, Ye So-ya and her son - who had been in Dongbuyeo - returned to Goguryeo. She became queen and appointed her son Yuri as crown prince and successor to the throne. She died in 19 BC.[4][5][6]
