History
In 1939, work began to replace the former Rhome Field, which was used by Cleburne High School for twenty years. The Works Projects Administration provided the funding ($80,000) and concrete from Somervell County was used. The field was officially opened in 1941, at this point, the team were coached by Ernest Guinn, future principal and later superintendent.[2]
The stadium was given a historical marker in 2010.[3]
