Zeng Keni & Liu Lingzi

Zeng Keni & Liu Lingzi (Chinese: 曾可妮 x 刘令姿) is a Chinese girl group formed in 2020 by OACA.[1] The eponymous group is composed of Zeng Keni and Liu Lingzi. Their debut EP Self was released on October 13, 2020.[2]

History

Pre-debut: Youth with You 2

In January 2020, iQiyi announced their new survival show that would bring 109 female trainees from different companies to form a nine-member girl group voted on by viewers.[3][4]

Zeng Keni and Liu Lingzi, together with three other trainees represented OACA on the show. The three were eliminated early in the competition, while Zeng and Liu managed to reach the finals. However, Zeng and Liu did not debut in the final project group THE9, after placing 13th and 15th respectively.

Prior to the show, Zeng made her debut and acted on Go Get Her and the films The Mystical Treasure and Mysterious Raiders.[5][6][7] She also contestant on Girls Fighting, where she eventually debuted with Diamond Girls.[8]

Following the show, the pair attended brand launches and had endorsement deals.[9]

2020: Debut with Self

On July 6, the group collaborated with Chinese Basketball Association and released the single "Migratory Bird" to promote students taking the gao kao.[10]

On October 8, 2020, OACA released the concept teaser for their upcoming EP, Self, which was released on October 13. The EP consists of three songs, with the title track "Nuh Toys" and two other solo tracks. The album sold over 90,000 copies within 9 hours since the release.[11]
