Career

Morani started off as an assistant director for the 2007 film Om Shanti Om and was assistant director for Halla Bol (2008) as well.[4] Apparently, though Morani had no interest in directing films, she took up these roles to familiarise herself with acting.[5] She made her acting debut in Shahrukh Khan's production Always Kabhi Kabhi in 2011 and has thereafter been signed by film director Shyam Benegal for his next film.[1] In 2011, she took up a modelling assignment during the Lakme Fashion Week.[4] She has since appeared in the 2012 edition of the Lakme Fashion Week as well.[6]

Morani was signed by Vikram Bhatt for his film Bhaag Johnny opposite Kunal Khemu and Mandana Karimi.[7][8][9] The film was co-produced by Bhushan Kumar and Vikram Bhatt and was released in 2015.

Personal life

Morani is the daughter of Karim Morani,[10] a Bollywood film producer and director of Cineyug Entertainment, one of Bollywood's biggest event management companies. She is an Ismaili Muslim by birth, but respects all other religion.[11] She was diagnosed with COVID-19 from which she has recovered.[12] Zoa Morani's sister Shaza Morani is married to Padmini Kolhapure's son Priyaank Sharma.[13][14][15]
