Zoomlion Ghana Limited

Zoomlion Ghana Limited is a private waste management as well as environmental sanitation business in Ghana and Africa as a whole. The company was formed under the company's Act in January 2006 by Joseph Siaw Agyepong.[1] Zoomlion Ghana started in 2006 with a core mandate of helping deal with the country's waste menace and to also address the mounting unemployment challenges confronting the youth.[2]

Apart from removing heaps of refuse in the country which possess environmental and sanitation problems for decades, it also does activities such as; massive clearing of choked drains, disinfestation exercises, public education campaigns on best sanitation practice and waste management practices. Etc.[2]

The Founder

Joseph Siaw Agyepong was on born March 20, 1971, on a farm land in Assin-Amoabeng in the Central Region. He was first named Felix by his mother but was later changed by his father to Joseph. He is the 6th of 17 children to his father.[3]

The African Clean-Up Initiative (ACI) a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) focuses on environmental sanitation organizations to improve environmental sanitation in Africa has awarded Zoomlion Ghana Limited for its extraordinary contributions and performance in the area of environmental Sanitation in Africa.[6]

Sustainable and Social Investment (SSI) 2019 Awards at Movenpick Ambassador Hotel, Accra. - Best Company in Providing Sanitation Facilities, Best Company in Providing Environmental Sustainability Projects and the Best Company in Sustainable and Social Investment Project (Environment Category).[7][8]

Zoomlion Ghana Limited has been awarded Sanitation Company of the year at the Ghana Business Awards, 2020 for its outstanding role in providing solutions and managing waste in the country.[9]

Zoomlion Ghana Ltd has employed over 85,000 Ghanaian citizens spread across all regions in Ghana.[7]
