High-Rise Invasion

High-Rise Invasion (Japanese: 天空侵犯, Hepburn: Tenkū Shinpan) is a Japanese manga series written by Tsuina Miura and illustrated by Takahiro Oba. The series was serialized online in DeNA's Manga Box app from December 2013 to March 2019, with Kodansha compiling it into 21 tankōbon volumes. The manga is licensed in North America by Seven Seas Entertainment. A sequel manga titled High-Rise Invasion Arrive (天空侵犯arrive, Tenkū Shipan Arrive) began serialization in Kodansha's Magazine Pocket website and app in July 2019, with 4 tankōbon volumes released so far. An original net animation (ONA) anime series adaptation by Zero-G will stream worldwide on Netflix in February 2021.

Plot

High school student Yuri Honjō finds herself lost in an "abnormal space" where countless skyscrapers are connected by suspension bridges and "masked figures" mercilessly slaughter their confused and fleeing victims. To survive in this hellish world, she has two choices: kill the masked figures or be killed. Yuri is determined to survive in order to destroy this irrational world, but what will be her ultimate fate?

Manga

The manga was serialized online in DeNA's Manga Box app from December 2013 to March 2019.[3] Kodansha held the license to publish the series and compiled it into twenty-one tankōbon volumes, while Seven Seas Entertainment has published the series in two-in-one omnibus volumes in North America since June 2018.[4] A sequel manga, titled High-Rise Invasion Arrive, has begun serialization in Kodansha's Magazine Pocket website and app since July 2019.[5]

Anime

At the Netflix Anime Festival on October 26, 2020, an original net animation (ONA) anime series adaptation was announced with a February 2021 release window.[1] In mid-January 2021, Netflix revealed that the series is scheduled for a February 25 release on the streaming service.[2] The series is animated by Zero-G and directed by Masahiro Takata, with Touko Machida handling series' composition, Yōichi Ueda designing the characters, and tatsuo and Youichi Sakai composing the series' music.[1] EMPiRE is performing the series' opening theme song "HON-NO," while Have a Nice Day! will perform the series' ending theme song "Watashi no Na wa Blue".[2]
