12 Mighty Orphans is an upcoming American sports film, which is directed by Ty Roberts, and starring Martin Sheen, Robert Duvall and Luke Wilson.[1][2][3]

It is based on the non fiction book by Jim Dent, Twelve Mighty Orphans: The Inspiring True Story of the Mighty Mites Who Ruled Texas Football.[4][5][6] The producer’s goal was to release the film exactly one year from the beginning of production, which did not occur.[7]

Principal photography took place from October 7 to November 25, 2019, in Weatherford, Texas,[8] Cleburne, Texas,[9] and Fort Worth, Texas.[10][11]

Alice Eve was initially attached to the project, early in the development.[12]

Release

In January 2021, Sony Pictures Classics acquired worldwide distribution rights to the film.[13]
