The 1942 Chico State Wildcats football team represented Chico State College[note 1] during the 1942 college football season. Chico State competed in the Far Western Conference in 1942. They played home games at College Field in Chico, California.

The 1942 Wildcats were led by fourth-year head coach Roy Bohler. Chico State finished the season with a record of five wins and one loss (5–1, 1–1 FWC). The Wildcats outscored their opponents 95–45 for the season.
