1962: The War in the Hills

1962: The War in the Hills is an Indian hindi-language military drama web-television series which will premiere on Disney Plus Hotstar on 26 February 2021. The series is directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and stars Abhay Deol.[1] The first look was shared on 26 January 2021. The show is inspired by the 1962 India-China war.[2]

The first look contains reference to the Galwan Valley clash.[2] It also references how 125 Indian soldiers fought 3000 Chinese in 1962.[3]

Film Companion writes that in reference to the 125 Indian soldiers fighting 3000 Chinese soldiers, India ceded territory. And that it is not only a battle against the Chinese but against the conditions that the fight is taking place in. This loss "still lingers in Indian thinking about the dangers of antagonizing China". The music is composed by Hitesh Modak and lyrics are penned by lavraj Film Companion says that it is this impact that the series wants to address, and in turn tell people to focus on the fight rather than past loss.[3]
