1971–72 Hunedoara County Championship

The 1971–72 Hunedoara County Championship was the 4th season of the Liga IV Hunedoara, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. The season began on 5 September 1971 [1] and ended on 4 June 1972.[2]

Competition format

The format was changed in two series, the Valea Jiului Series with 12 teams and the Valea Mureșului Series with 14 teams. The winners of the two series qualify for the championship play-off to establish the county champion and Hunedoara County representative at the promotion play-off in Divizia C.[3]

Other changes
  • The youth teams of Minerul Lupeni, Constructorul Hunedoara, Minerul Teliuc, Minerul Ghelar, Victoria Calan and CFR Simeria will play in the county championship.
  • Horia Cristur was renamed as Prefabricate Cristur.
