Venue
This was the fourth of five Tournament Players Championships held at Sawgrass Country Club; it moved to the nearby TPC at Sawgrass Stadium Course in 1982. At the time it was scheduled to be the last at Sawgrass,[3][5] but early construction delays due to weather caused the championship to return for a fifth and final year in 1981.[6]
