Season summary

Morecambe achieved an 11th-place finish in their first ever season in the Football League. The club also claimed two victories in the League Cup, winning away at second-tier Preston North End and Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, they lost in the third round with a 5-0 defeat at Sheffield United.
