2020 Texas A&M–Commerce Lions football team

The 2020 Texas A&M–Commerce Lions football team represents Texas A&M University–Commerce in the 2020 NCAA Division II football season. They are coached by David Bailiff in his second season. The Lions will play 4 out of conference games and 7 Lone Star Conference games.

Schedule

Texas A&M–Commerce announced its 2020 football schedule in January 2020. The Lions were expected to play 11 regular season games.[1] On August 5, 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the council of NCAA Division II Schools announced their decision to cancel the postseason play, but allow teams to play an abbreviated fall season and an abbreviated spring season in 2021. In response, Lion Head Coach David Bailiff and Athletic Director Tim McMurray announced there would be no competition in Fall of 2020 or Spring of 2021 since there 2020 would not have a Championship game. The Lions were ranked preseason # 3 in the country in the D2.com Football preseason poll.
