Biography
He rose to prominence in Belgrade's night club scene during the early nineties by performing various genres, from jazz to Gypsy music, before joining rock musician Viktorija and her band. Lukas eventually pursued a recording career in 1995 with his debut album, but saw significant success only upon his next two releases and stand-out songs such as the 1998 Anna Vissi cover 'Lična karta' (ID). Today, he is regarded as one of the biggest Serbian turbo-folk singers. In June 2013, Lukas held his biggest concert to date at the Marakana Stadium in front of 50,000 people and has also performed in the Belgrade Arena over ten times.[2]
Additionally, he also served as a judge on the televised singing competition Zvezde Granda.[3]
Vuksanović has four children from three different marriages.[4] He has had several run-ins with the law and is often the subjects of tabloid journalism. In 2003, he was arrested for illegal gun possession during the police action Sablja.[5] Lukas has also admitted having issues with drug addiction and gambling.[6][5] In 2017, his was sentenced for physically assaulting his then wife.[7][5]
In November 2020 he was publicly denounced for insulting journalist on the TV show. One day later he publicly apologised for his misconduct but it wasn't very well accepted from public.
