Adobe Photoshop Album

Adobe Photoshop Album is a piece of application software by Adobe Systems designed to import, organize and edit digital photos, and allows quick and easy searching and sharing of entire photo collections. It has been compared to Apple Inc.'s iPhoto and Google's Picasa.[1]

Adobe Photoshop Album was initially released on February 18, 2003. The last version was Photoshop Album 3.2.0. Adobe has discontinued the full version of Photoshop Album and instead recommends Adobe Photoshop Elements.[2]

Starter Edition

A Windows-only freeware version, Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2, was provided until June 30, 2009. Support was provided until the day after. Photoshop Album Starter Edition includes features like red-eye correction, brightness adjustment, calendar view and image tagging.

The Starter Edition allows using the program for a certain number of times until it prompts for registration for continued usage. This process no longer appears to work as the product is no longer supported by Adobe; any attempts to obtain a registration code through the supplied registration tool will yield a short email response that the program is no longer available.

History

Adobe Photoshop Album is now known as Adobe Photoshop Elements Organizer. It is bundled with full versions of Adobe Photoshop Elements on Mac and Windows OS. The technology behind Album came from a 2001 acquisition of Fotiva Inc (a Santa Rosa startup). Adobe discontinued this product in favor of Photoshop elements.
