Alan Astbury

Alan Astbury FRS FRSC[1] (1934–2014)[2] was a Canadian physicist, professor emeritus at University of Victoria,[3][4] and director of the Tri-Universities Meson Facility (TRIUMF) laboratory.[5][6][7]

Research and career

Astubry led a group at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory who confirmed the existence of the W particle.[8] He served as president of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP).[9][10][11]
