Amangeldy
Amangeldy (Kazakh: Амангелді) is a village in the Moiynkum District of the Jambyl Region, Kazakhstan, 170 kilometres from the city of Taraz.
The village contains 3 gas fields, the Zharkum, Ayrakty and the Amangeldy field. Together, these fields produce an accumulated gas production volume of 4.4 billion cube meters, an accumulated gas condensate production of 324,000 tons, 47.5 billion cube meters of probable gas reserves and 43 production wells. The Amangeldy gas field was discovered in 1975, exploitation started on October 23, 2003 and the gasfields still operated as of January 2021.[1]
The village has a cold semi-arid (steppe) climate (BSK).[2]
