Amlar

Amlar is a village in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It lies at a distance of almost 35 km from Srinagar and 6 km from main Tral town and 5 km from Awantipora.

Its nearby villages are Nowpora, Lariyar and Poshwan. On the Khandaypora (mohalla of Amlar) side, it is surrounded by a low mountain (Wudur).

The climate of the place does vary according to season. During summer, it is very hot, and during winter, it is shivering cold in Amlar. In winter, the village is covered by snow.

Amlar consists of various mohallas like Shiekhpora, Khandaypora, Dar mohalla, Khudpora, Kumar mohalla. In addition to this, there is a place, Nagrad, which is considered as a part of Shiekhpora.

Education

The literacy rate of this village is very high.It is considered to be one of the highest literate village in entire Tral having literacy rate of 90%.There are many schools like MPS, Govt.High School etc. which are providing very good education to students.There are lot of govt.employes which include teachers, doctors, lecturers, professors, engineers, policemen etc. There are many students who have good academic qualifications.

Religion

Islam is the religion of the place. There are people of different sects of Islam mainly hanafi, salafi etc.

There are four mosques in the village, two are jamia.
