Production
The series was supposed to premiere on 30 March 2020. However, owing Covid-19 outbreak in India, production and shootings were stalled on 23 March 2020 and Malayalam television shootings were permitted from June 2020. This made it to postpone and premiere on 22 June 2020.
- Casting
This show marks the comeback of yesteryear actress Keerthi Gopinath after 20 years, south Indian actor Anand and his wife Poornima Anand to Malayalam television after a hiatus. Tamil actress Sreethu Nair and Telugu actor Nikhil Nair make their Malayalam debut along with new face Salmanul Faris in the lead roles. The show also features famous TV - film actors like Boban Alummoodan, T.S.Raju and Reena and actress Parvathy (child actor - Paarijatham) in prominent roles.
Reception
It has been receiving high praising and extremely positive comments from viewers. Sreethu-Nikhil combo (Sreekhil) is very famous among the viewers and has been receiving very high praising and appreciations within a very short period of time and is also one among the leading couples of Asianet. Fans shortly call Ambadi and Aleena also as Adeena (ambADi+alEENA) and the three villians are acknowledged as ViMooSa [Vinayachandran + Moorthy + Sachidanandan]. Neeraja's (Keerthi Gopinath) and Aleena's (Sreethu Krishnan) mother-daughter scenes have left the viewers emotional. 'Ammayariyathe' has got the best casting and each and every character has equal importance in this serial. Ammayariyathe is a fully-packed serial with sentimental moments, family moments, revenge moments, romantic moments, friendship moments, etc. It features:
