Kudumbavilakku
Kudumbavilakku (transl. Family Lantern) is an Indian Malayalam-language television soap opera drama.[1] The show premiered on Asianet channel and streaming on Disney+Hotstar since 27 January 2020. Meera Vasudevan portrays the lead role in the series, returning to television after thirteen years.[2][3][4]

The series is produced by Chitra Shenoy under Good Company Productions, is an official remake of Bengali TV series Sreemoyee which depicts the story of a hardworking Housewife, Sumithra (played by Meera Vasudevan) but she never acknowledged or appreciated for her work. She decides to rediscover herself and prove her worth is the main plot.
According to BARC ratings, Kudumbavilakku has managed to top the Malayalam TV show's TRP chart from shortly after its start through early April 2020. Due to COVID-19 pandemic situation, Kudumbavilakku and all other serials have stopped from 28 March 2020. Months later, TV Serial shooting was permitted on India. From June 2020 , the series tops the rating charts with incredible TRP rating surpassing all the TV series in Kerala.
Plot
A woman does not get a moment of rest while doing all the household chores on top of being a dutiful wife, daughter-in-law and mother. Yet, she is never acknowledged or appreciated for her work.[5][6]

Kudumbavilakku was the top rated serial in Malayalam television from mid-February through early April in 2020, peaking with 6.1 million TRP according to the weekly data of BARC India [7] since its inception.
