Andy Ackers

Andrew Ackers (born 25 December 1993) is an English professional rugby league footballer who plays as a hooker for the Salford Red Devils in the Betfred Super League.

Early career

Wigan Warriors

Ackers was released by the Wigan Warriors without making a single first team appearance and joined the Warrington Wolves where he was released without making a single first team appearance.

Swinton Lions

He then played for the Swinton Lions in the third-tier of Rugby League before being offered the opportunity to become a full time first team player for the London Broncos.

London Broncos

Ackers was released by the Broncos after complaining of being homesick.[3]

Toronto Wolfpack

He subsequently signed for the Toronto Wolfpack, a club situated over 5,400km away from his home town.

Salford Red Devils

On June 4, 2020, Ackers left the Toronto Wolfpack and signed a contract with the Salford Red Devils that would run until through 2022.[4]
