An attacking opening batsman, much like his father Krish Srikkanth, Anirudha made his first-class debut in the 2003-04 season as a 16-year-old. He was in and out of the Tamil Nadu Ranji squad in the following seasons but has enjoyed greater success in the limited-overs format and once topped the run charts for India Under-19s against the touring England U-19s in 2004-05. His record in the Twenty20 format too has been impressive, finishing the fourth-highest run-getter in the inter-state Twenty20 in 2007. That carried him into the list of 30 probables for the ICC World Twenty20 as well as the India Greens squad in the 2007-08 Challenger Trophy. He was later included in the Chennai Super Kings squad in the Indian Premier League Twenty20 tournament. He is married to a model, Arthi Venkatesh.
