About

Established in 1980, the institution offers undergraduate programmes in five disciplines. The institution also has an MBA programme. The institution is managed by Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen (AHM),[4] an educational board established in 1919. AITM has affiliations from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen (AHM), an educational trust of Bhatkal established in 1919, had a mission to bring technical education to the shores of Bhatkal. With the new policy of Government of Karnataka in the late 1970s to permit private educational organisations to start self-financed engineering colleges, AHM established Anjuman Engineering College in the year 1980 under the stewardship of Late Mr. S. M. Yahya. The college with affiliation from the Karnatak University, Dharwad started functioning with the basic three branches of engineering, namely, Department of Civil Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. In 1985, the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established and in the year 1992, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering was started. The college changed its affiliation to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi in the year 1998 as per the Government notification. A postgraduate course in Management (MBA) was started in the year 2009, and the institution was renamed to Anjuman Institute of Technology and Management.
