Early life

Manning emerged on the football scene before high school, when highlights of him passing went viral on Twitter.[2]

High school career

In his freshman season, Manning was the varsity starter at quarterback, shining in his debut and leading Newman to a 26-point victory. “He doesn’t look like a freshman. That maturity and how you handle those tight moments are where the greatness can come," his coach said afterward.[3] Later, in October of his freshman season, Archie Manning said that Arch was ahead of uncles Peyton and Eli at the same age.[4]

Manning completed his freshman season with 2,407 yards and 34 touchdowns, earning MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year honors, joining future NFL players Jabrill Peppers and Nick Bosa, and Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence.[5]

Manning enjoyed a growth spurt heading into tenth grade.[6] As a sophomore, Manning opened the season by throwing for six touchdowns.[7]

On October 15, 2020, Manning made his national television debut in a game against Booker T. Washington. He threw for two touchdowns and rushed for an additional two scores.[8]

To avoid a media frenzy, Manning's family has withheld him from media interviews and also declined premature college scholarship offers. "They've shutdown everything," said one member of local media, "but the attention is going to come."[9]

Personal life

Manning's older sister May plays volleyball, while his younger brother Heid is a teammate on the football team.[9]
