ARS operates two disconnected lines consisting of 61 total miles, which are leased from the Kansas City Southern Railway (KCS):
- The Northern Branch (formerly the KCS Waldron Branch) operates from Waldron, Arkansas to Heavener, Oklahoma, where it interchanges with KCS.
- The Southern Branch (formerly the KCS Nashville Branch) operates from Ashdown, Arkansas (where it interchanges with KCS) to Nashville, Arkansas (where it interchanges with the Union Pacific Railroad).
ARS is owned by Watco Companies, a short-line railroad holding company.
