Azerbaijan—Ireland relations refer to the bilateral relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Ireland in the political, socio-economic and cultural spheres.[1]

Diplomatic relations

The government of Ireland recognized the independence of Azerbaijan in 1991.[2]

Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Ireland were established on 1 July 1996.[3]

The building of the diplomatic mission of Azerbaijan to Ireland is located in London (United Kingdom), while the building of the diplomatic mission of Ireland to Azerbaijan is located in Ankara (Turkey).[3]

The Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Ireland is Tahir Taghizade.[2] the Irish Ambassador to Azerbaijan is James Sharp.[4]

The legislative assemblies of both countries have working groups on inter-parliamentary relations.[3]

International cooperation

In the international arena, cooperation between the two countries is carried out within the framework of various international organizations.[5]

Economic cooperation

According to the data of the United Nations trade office, in 2018, the volume of exports of goods from Azerbaijan amounted to 7.62 million US dollars.
