Airing history

Balita Ngayon debuted on February 20, 1967, and aired daily from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays. However, the newscast ceased airing due to the closure of ABS-CBN after the declaration of martial law on September 22, 1972.

On September 15, 1986, Balita Ngayon returned with Mel Tiangco, Frankie Evangelista and Robert Arevalo from 6:30-7:00pm. During this time, it was a Catholic Mass Media awardee.[1] However, due to low ratings brought about by its competition with GMA Balita, Balita Ngayon ended on February 27, 1987 to make way for TV Patrol.
