Notable programs, courses, and clubs
The school offers an assortment of clubs and courses for students to choose from. Musical programs at Bert Church are known to be atop the province and include: concert choir, junior and senior concert band, as well as senior jazz band, which have performed for Former Alberta Premier, Alison Redford. Bert Church also is noted for its drama, performing arts and technical theatre courses, which put on winter and spring productions. The school also offers a foods course which takes place in its professional, industrial-style kitchen. Bert Church High School is also the Under Armour Finding Undeniable 2013 winner.
Athletics
Bert Church offers a variety of athletic programs including football, volleyball, basketball, cross country running, soccer, golf, and curling. The school's official team name is The Bert Church Chargers. Every year, The Bert Church Chargers football team competes for the Airdrie Bowl against Bert Church High School's traditional Airdrie rival school, the George McDougall Mustangs. The Bert Church Cheer Team and Pom Team are noted for their first place wins. The Bert Church Basketball team holds an invitational Basketball tournament for both the senior and junior teams from all over Alberta, This is called BCI (Bert Church Invitational).
Theatre
Bert Church High School is noted for its 373-seat proscenium theatre which is used for both school productions, and professional productions. The theatre is also used as a teaching space for grade 9-12 drama classes. The Bert Church Theatre has put on numerous performances by bands such as, The Trews, Bif Naked, 54-40, and many other Canadian favourites.
