Birhanu Legese

Birhanu Legese Gurmesa (born 11 September 1994 in Woliso, Oromia, Ethiopia[1]) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner. He is currently part of the NN Running Team, which is managed by Global Sports Communication.[2]

Career

Legese has won various prestigious international races, including the Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon in 2016.[3]

In 2019, Legese won the Tokyo Marathon in 2:04:48 despite cold and rainy conditions.[4] In 2020, Legese successfully defended his title at Tokyo and won with a time of 2:04:15.[5]
