Brian Blad

Brian Blad is an American politician and businessman serving as the mayor Pocatello, Idaho.[1][2] Elected in 2009, Blad succeeded Roger Chase, the two-term incumbent. He won his third term on November 17, 2017.[3]

Career

In addition to his career in local politics, Blad is the owner of a local business, Merlin's Insulation.[1] He was sworn into office as mayor in January 2010. He is concurrently serves as chief executive officer of the city, where he manages day-to-day operations of the city's government.[4][5][6]

Before entering politics, Blad served for 12 years on the executive board of the non-profit Blow-in-Blanket Contractor's Association and served 3 years as an officer. Blad is recognized internationally as an expert in the insulation industry. He spent 10 years throughout North America teaching and training specific companies the importance of energy efficient building.[4]

Blad also hosts his own television show, Calling City Hall, on government access television.[4]

Personal life

Blad and his wife, Laura, have four children.[4]
