Broghil Valley National Park
Broghil Valley (Urdu: بروغل) is a valley and national park located in the upper northern reaches Chitral District, of Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It is located close to the Afghan-Pakistan border.

Location
Broghil valley is located at a distance of 250 km from main Chitral town and is the northernmost valley of Chitral district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Geography
The area is mostly mountainous tracts. Elevations range from 3,280m at Kishmanjah village to 4,304m at Karamber Lake in northeast. The terrain is undulating, with steep mountains, wide stretch grassy plains and narrow valleys. The total area of peatlands and lakes is almost 3,400 ha.[1]
Flora and Fauna
Most of the rocky terrain is covered with oak forests, sub-alpine scrub and Deodar. Common plants include Webb's rose, Artmesia brevifolia and Artmesia maritima. 23 species of mammals, 120 birds, 3 reptiles and 1 amphibian has been confirmed from this area. Carnivorous mammals include Persian leopard, Snow leopard, Leopard cat, Eurasian wolf, Red fox, Himalayan black bear, Yellow throated marten and a small number of Himalayan brown bear. Markhor, Himalayan Ibex, Bharal, Himalayan musk deer and Himalayan Goral are also found here. Common mammals include Red giant flying squirrel, Royle's pika and Himalayan marmot. The endemic Pale gray shrew has also been described from this region. Common birds are Tibetan snowcock, Koklass pheasent, Chukar, Horned lark, Large-billed crow, Lammergier vulture, Golden eagle, Snow pigeon and Eurasian eagle owl. Many migratory waterfowl pass through Chitral each winter these include Bar-headed goose, Common teal and Mallard. Demosielle cranes also stop over during summer. Gloydius himalayanus or Himalayan viper, Paralaudakia himalayana and the endemic Chitral gecko are found here. Only one amphibian the Baltistan Toad is found.
